Born out of a personally troubling time, this painting represents the stages of liberation from an anxious mental state and marks a return to significant artmaking for me. After a full year of little production, this moment was a turning point toward more honest and personally meaningful concepts underlying my artworks, in contrast to earlier pieces which were largely much more strictly representational and technical.
