Creation Destroyed

The beautiful irony of a destroyed bust of Apollo, the god of creativity and arts, sparked my fascination with modern depictions of age-old mythological stories., whose details and images change with time but whose essential ideals and lessons persist. Although Apollo’s face was half-removed, the statue still evoked and carried on the character’s story of creativity. So too in this painting does Apollo continue, despite his increasingly crumbling and winding road, to chariot the sun across the sky and bring light to the world.
